Biography
I have worked in private practice both as an associate and a partner. In addition, I spent almost 10 years with the Legal Aid Ontario Family Law clinic as a staff lawyer. I practice in all areas of Law related to families and their unique circumstances. This includes: negotiating and drafting Separation Agreements, Marriage Contracts and Cohabitation Agreements; dealing with both contested and uncontested Divorces; addressing all aspects of Family Law Litigation in all levels of court for both married and unmarried couples, grandparents and interested third parties; all aspects of Child Protection as well as the enforcement process through the Family Responsibility Office.
I helped organize Collaborative Family Law training and certification for other lawyers and assisted in the formation of the Thunder Bay Collaborative Law Group, an alternative method to resolving Family Law disputes. In addition, I have also assisted clients in purchasing and selling real estate as well as preparing Powers of Attorney and Wills. I pride myself on providing personal client-focused attention on every case. I recognize the unique concerns of each person that I work for and the importance of their individual circumstances.
Thunder Bay Connection
I was raised in Toronto and educated in Ontario, New Brunswick and Alberta. I worked with the Toronto Transit Commission Legal Aid Department before moving to Thunder Bay in 1995.
